Kluge.Net is a small localized network that was created as an educational site to learn more about networking and such on the Internet. The definition of kluge is (from the jargon/hacker dictionary):
Notice by the way that it's spelled kluge, not kludge... If you use the 'd', you're spelling it incorrectly.
My favorite description of kluge is as follows:
"You know that toy when you were a kid with the spheres and cubes, and
you had to get the spheres through the round holes, etc... ? Well,
kluging is the fine art of taking the spherical piece, putting it into
the square hole, and beating it with a hammer until it goes
through."
Between Fall 1994 and Spring 1998, the main kluge.net systems had
been located at Worcester Polytechnic
Institute. The Systems Administrator (felicity) was a Computer
Science major at WPI until March 1998 when he completed all of the
requirements for a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science.
The main kluge.net system is now located elsewhere on a dedicated
Internet connection.
